UNI Annual Fund...It's Everybody's Fund

Darla Brendemuehl '92  People deserve to have an education and if we can help them, that's the right thing to do.

Darla Brendemuehl '92 - Pleasant Hill, Iowa

I came to UNI because of its reputation, especially in accounting. For me, coming to Cedar Falls was like moving to a big city. When I saw the size of campus and looked at the class sizes, I knew I would get the attention I needed from my professors.

When the Accounting Club toured companies, I knew my classroom experience mirrored professional life. Now, 12 years later, I can see that my UNI education played a big role in my success.

I believe in UNI's academic mission and that is why I support the UNI Annual Fund. It impacts the life of every student and ensures the quality of every department.

Phil & Mary Lockhart UNI is a nice size with a lot to offer.

We love the integration of services and programs. Everyone recognizes and values the university's broad range of academic, social and experiential learning opportunities. The low student-to-professor ratio makes a difference. It really shows UNI is a nice size with a lot to offer.

Our daughter loves the social aspect. She feels very comfortable here and this is home for her now. She has used the tutoring services but her professors have been very supportive and available to her as well.

UNI is great and has been a positive experience for us. We would highly recommend it. If you're trying to make up your mind about a university, don't pass over UNI. The campus is beautiful and the food is wonderful.

The first time I was on campus, I came across someone I had never met before and they smiled at me. That really surprised me. I felt really welcomed to my new community and my new home.

After struggling through my first computer science class, I talked with my professor to ask if I should be in a different class. He told me to hang on, that he and his graduate assistant would help me and they did.

I have had the chance to experience any opportunity that I'm interested in at UNI. I have attended conferences related to computer science, taken part in Iowa International Fellowship Program, organized by the Iowa Council for International Understanding in Des Moines, served on SOS, Summer Orientation Staff, and participated on campus through International Student Association.

Potential students should come visit because it's small enough to be your home but large enough to be your school.

Mark '76 & Jill '85 Oman Overall the role of education is important to the future of Iowa and of our country.

As public support for education is reduced, it's getting tougher and tougher financially for families. It is the responsibility of everyone fortunate enough to go to college to give back. We tell everybody - it's small enough that you know a lot of people, but not big enough that you know everybody.
