UNI Annual Fund Q. What is the UNI Annual Fund? A. Each year the University of Northern Iowa raises money through the UNI Annual Fund. The yearly contributions are an ongoing important component for the university's students, colleges and facilities. The university depends upon the UNI Annual Fund gifts from its alumni and friends to help advance its programs and to enhance the school's academic quality. Q. Why should I give to the UNI Annual Fund over another fund? A. As the backbone of private support, the annual fund provides funds for areas that need it most and may not receive the funding from any other source. Q. Why is it so important to make sure I give every year? A. Unlike large long-term gifts, Annual Fund gifts provide UNI with money immediately, which can be used to benefit any area of the university, as specified by the donor. Q. What is the Campanile Society? A. The Campanile Society was founded in 2003 to honor those who have given a gift of $1,000 or more per year to the UNI Annual Fund. For more information or to become a member of the Campanile Society, contact the UNI Foundation. UNI Phone-A-Thon Q. Who is making the phone calls that I receive about the UNI Annual Fund? A. Currently enrolled UNI students who are very knowledgeable about campus. Q. Why do I get more than one phone call from these students in a year? A. The Phone-A-Thon calls for more than just the UNI Annual Fund. The students also raise money for each college and special programs. Q. How can I avoid receiving a phone call from the UNI Phone-A-Thon? A. If you don't want to receive a phone call about campus updates, you
can Giving Q. How can I make a gift of cash to the UNI Annual Fund? A. A gift to the UNI Annual Fund can be made with a single payment or a pledge broken down into a few payments. If you wish to make a multi-payment pledge, the UNI Foundation can set up a schedule of payment reminders for you. Checks for gifts of cash should be made out to the UNI Foundation and
mailed to: Q. How can my gift be doubled or tripled? A. Many corporations often match gifts. Any donor may maximize his/her gift by contacting their employer's personnel office for the appropriate forms or the UNI Development Office. Q. Can I designate my gift to sources other than the UNI Annual Fund? A. Yes. 'There are numerous accounts to which you can designate your gift. Many alumni choose to designate their annual gift to a specific program or department on campus. Q. Can I give on-line? A. The UNI Foundation provides a safe and secure on-line giving option.

the form out completely, and, if you wish to restrict your gift, indicate
the UNI program or activity that you would like to support. Then, click
'Submit Your Pledge.' You will receive receipt of your gift by Q. Is my gift to the UNI Annual Fund tax-deductible? A. Yes, gifts to the UNI Annual Fund are tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law. You must claim a gift as an itemized deduction on your tax return.
