Lang Hall Building/Equipment
Lang Hall, with its graceful arched windows and noble brick exterior, has been a landmark on the University of Northern Iowa campus for nearly a century. A symbol of strength and excellence, the building has been home to a series of university departments, and seen the likes of Martin Luther King Jr., Eleanor Roosevelt and Salvador Dali in its auditorium. Lang's warm wooden floors have borne the weight of tens of thousands of our students, none of whom could imagine a campus without Lang Hall. In an effort to preserve not only the building, but the memories associated with it, UNI has recently renovated Lang Hall. This $14.3 million project totally remodeled the existing classrooms and offices and restored the historic auditorium. The Lang Hall renovation also looks toward the future with new instructional spaces for UNI's communications studies classes. These include: a state-of-the-art television studio; a small theatre; performance studios and computer laboratores. Additional funds are now needed to purchase the advanced equipment that will be used by Communications Studies majors preparing for careers in electronic media, public relations, high school teaching and business, as well as all other UNI students who take Communications Studies classes. Goal: $1 million Return on Investment:
