Named Endowments Creating an Endowment - The Perpetual Gift Many individuals who provide a significant gift to the University of Northern Iowa choose to create a named endowment fund. An endowment fund uses only the interest earned each year from the gift. You can restrict the use of your endowment to support an
activity or program of interest to you and your family. Since only the
income will be used, the principal of your gift will remain intact. By
establishing an endowment fund, you will ensure that your memory or the
memory of a loved one will continue forever. If you are interested in
providing a gift which is restricted to a particular program, we request
that you contact the University of Northern Iowa Foundation. Our staff
will assist you in formulating language which will insure the maximum
usefulness of your gift. Organized in 2005, the Ovation Society offers the opportunity to support the work of the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, bringing world-class talent to the people of Iowa and supporting Iowa's own world-class performers. For more information, contact Michelle.Rourke@uni.edu.
Panther Champions Endowed Scholarships Panther Champions endowed and annual scholarships support UNI athletics, which help provide victories both on and off the field. To learn more, contact steve.gearhart@uni.edu or noreen.hermansen@uni.edu.
Unrestricted Gifts Unrestricted gifts offer the donor the opportunity to assist
programs where the need is greatest. The future of the university will be shaped by the commitment of today's visionaries--alumni and friends who enable it to thrive and excell in the future. These special persons make unrestricted bequests or outright unrestricted gifts of more than $10,000 to the University Vision Fund. By doing so, they enable UNI to address the needs of its future students, whatever those needs may be.
