I am so excited to be the UNI Foundation Student Coordinator of the Memorial Garden; and to be a part of a project that celebrates a UNI tradition. UNI continues to receive national recognition for faculty expertise and student achievements in education, business, science and many other disciplines. Under the leadership of President Ben Allen, the university will continue to build upon its academic achievements with new programs, facilities and projects.
Along with excellence in education, UNI boasts a beautifully maintained and well-landscaped campus. Many students comment that the size, layout and the beauty of the campus were an important factor in their decision to attend UNI.
The vision for the UNI Memorial Garen was developed by students nearly a decade ago to provide a tranquil outdoor location to study, relax and gather for special events. In partnership with the UNI Foundation, the students' vision has become a reality.
The Memorial Garden is located east of Maucker Union and is the main entrance to the Center for Multicultural Education. The garden features benches, arbors, trees, plants, flowers, specialized gardens, functional events stage, grass seating area, commemorative granite pavers and a brick walkway with personalized inscriptions.
I am pleased to invite you to become a part of the UNI Memorial Garden, a place where students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends come for beauty, education, solitude, discovery, study, renewal and inspiration. Through your contribution to the garden, you leave a permanent impression on the UNI campus and celebrate your time at UNI.
