Steve Gearhart
joined the UNI Foundation earlier this year as assistant athletic
director for development, where he serves as the major gifts officer
on behalf of UNI athletics locally and nationally. Prior to joining
UNI, he held a similar position at the University of Idaho and Drake
University. He is a 1987 graduate of UNI, and a former co-captain
of the UNI cross-country and track and field teams. Steve holds an
MA in athletic administration from Kent State University.
Steve and his wife Shelly have two children, Allie and Seb. According
to Steve, "The University of Northern Iowa, without question,
was the perfect fit for me in regards to my education and being able
to compete as a track and cross-country athlete. Once I stepped foot
on campus in the fall of 1982 I became a Panther. No matter where
you go after graduating from UNI, you'll always be a Panther. To me,
that's very special! Go Panthers!!" |
